Jim Elder's portrait unveiling at the Royal

Last night , my portrait of Jim Elder, the 1968 Canadian gold medal Olympian for Equestrian Sports was unveiled at Jim's favourite charity event, CARD (Canadian Association for riders with disabilities) at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto.  The painting will join other portraits in the President's Room at the RAWF.  Then I had the honour to walk the jumping event course with Jim and  Norman Fine, publisher of Fox Hunting Life,  while Jim gave us an overview of the strategy used by the competitors during competition.

The event of this unveiling touches my heart. I have been privileged to riding Jim's Olympian horse "Blazer" in competitions within the disabled community. Blazer became the pride of a family physician in Amherst, Nova Scotia and it was at that location I had the life-changing experience to participate with Blazer.
Your image of Jim is incredibly sensitive and captures his splendid energy and spirit.
As an artist, I frequently find myself applying my equestrain interests in watercolour.
Thank you for this delightful post.
